When Doubling Goes… Not Exactly as Planned 🍪

Earlier this month, the Three Little Badgers decided to go big- a double batch of cookies big. What could go wrong?

Well… it turns out that doubling a recipe is a little trickier than it sounds when you’re learning the ropes. Somewhere between the flour, the sugar, and an enthusiastic amount of chocolate chips, a few math mix-ups slipped in.

The results? Let’s just say our cookies spread out a bit more than expected. Okay… a lot more. Instead of tall, fluffy cookies, we ended up with some very flat, very droopy ones.

Our droopy, but still yummy cookies... turns out you do need all the flour! These over-indexed on butter and sugar.

But here’s the thing - they still tasted delicious.

So we got creative. We turned our “oops” into a backyard treat: s’mores. We added freshly roasted marshmallows (no arm twisting required for us to get a campfire going!), and suddenly those flat cookies were the perfect base for something even better.

This batch reminded us of something important:

  • Mistakes happen (especially in the kitchen!)

  • Math matters (we’re working on it...)

  • And sometimes, the best treats come from trying something new

We’re calling it a win.

And don’t worry, when it comes to the cookies we make for you, we double-check our measurements (with a little help from our grown-ups!) so every batch turns out just right. If you’re craving cookies made with a lot of heart (and a little learning along the way), we’d love to bake for you.
