Hip, Hip, Hooray for Market Day!

Last Saturday was the Kids Market, and the Three Little Badgers were ready to sell some cookies! After all the planning, practicing, and getting their booth ready (they spent Friday afternoon baking 260 cookies), it was time to see what running a cookie stand was really like.

And they had a blast! The boys quickly learned that selling cookies involves a lot more than standing behind a table and waiting for customers. They practiced greeting people, explaining their cookies, answering questions, making sales, and figuring out what to do when several customers showed up at once.
Their skills got better and better as the morning went on.

At one point, our oldest had a little breakthrough. He looked at us and said: “If I say hello, everyone either says hi back or comes and buys a cookie!” We’re not sure if that’s a business strategy or just a really good lesson in being friendly... but either way, we’ll take it. 😉
The boys also had fun exploring the other kids’ stands, checking out what everyone else was selling and seeing all the different ways kids were turning their ideas into little businesses. It was a great reminder that there are lots of ways to create something, share it with others, and try something new.

And... they almost sold out of cookies! Not bad for Three Little Badgers at their first market.
We’re proud of how the boys jumped in, learned as they went, and grew more confident with every customer. They came home with a little less inventory, a lot more experience, and plenty of ideas for what they want to do next.
We’re calling the Kids Market a big win. And the boys are already looking for another market to sell at. Stay tuned for your next chance to see these Three Little Badgers in action; in the meantime, they'd love to bake an order just for you!
